Shelter Services

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay provides adoptive animals and pets a home away from home. We provide a safe haven for animals and pets in need through these services:

  • Pet Surrender – Offered to pet owners who can no longer care for their pets. Due to limited space, it is encouraged to call or email before bringing your pet.
  • Lost & Found Pets – While the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is the county-designated shelter for stray/lost animals, we are allowed to accept and hold strays if we have the space. If you find a stray pet in Pinellas County, please take them to Pinellas County Animal Services, as HSTB Pinellas cannot accept stray animals at this time.
  • Pet Adoption– Adopting a new pet gives families so much joy and love while providing that dog, cat, rabbit or pocket pet with a forever home. When you choose to adopt a pet, you give them what they deserve: a safe and loving place to call home.
  • Humane Euthanasia – Painless and humane service for pet owners who have to say goodbye to pets who are suffering from chronic illness, irreparable injury, or old age. Prices vary according to the services requested and the size of the pet.
  • Animal Rescue – If you find a stray animal that is severely sick, injured, or in distress, please contact our Rescue Department at 813-625-0910 during business hours. Our dedicated team is ready to respond and provide the help these animals need.
